Virtual Mentor Sessions

With effect from Monday 13th December, it will be mandatory (unless exempt) for all staff, students and visiting adults to wear face coverings in all indoor settings at the University. 

This is applicable to all scenarios, including when seated, at any time whilst indoors in both Academic and Residential settings.

The only exceptions will be if you are in a single occupancy space with the door closed, but with windows open, or when eating and drinking. 

In line with this new guidance, your Residence Life Mentors will be changing the way they contact you, as well as how they provide support and signposting for you, and as such we are going to be returning to the delivery of a virtual service until further notice, meaning routine face to face visits will be replaced by telephone calls, video calls or email contact. However, if it is felt that it is absolutely necessary to meet face to face we encourage you to consider meeting with your Residence Life mentor either outside or in a larger communal area.

I’m sure you will appreciate that due to Covid-19 Residence Life is experiencing an extremely high demand on the service but we will endeavour to respond to any queries and concerns you may have as soon as possible. 

Please note mentors work daily between the hours of 6.30pm and midnight and in addition to their routine contact with you they will also be available through a virtual drop-in every day.
