Living on student loan and the occasional help from your parents is not that easy. After paying for your rent, food, drinks and text books you are often left with not much disposable income at the end of the month.
Paying for exercise is at the bottom of the list of priorities for many students. That’s why we are so excited to provide the opportunity for you to get as fit as you like for free. Yes, for free. Throughout the whole year. This is one of the perks of living in University accommodation!
If you want to improve your cardio, you can come to one of the fitness classes or running sessions; for no impact cardio, try swimming every Friday night. If you wish to develop your strength, bouldering is a great way to challenge yourself. Or if you prefer team sports, have a go at touch rugby or football. We have loads more to choose from so check the Sport Sheffield website for more information. Overall there is over 40 different activities happening each week so you will definitely not get bored!
All of the activities run on a weekly basis so it is up to you just how much you want to get involved. If you want the opportunity to come every now and then, these sessions are great as they are completely informal. But if you want to make the most out of the free sports Programme, and getting fit is high up on the list of your priorities, you can do as many as you can fit in!
All you need to do is is book on for each class, bring your Residence Life card and you are good to go! Have a read through this handy guide which will tell you how to book on.
Look out for a weekly timetable of all the fun sports and activities that are on each week. They will be coming to your inbox every Sunday morning.
