Did you know that students who live in University Accommodation are entitled to sport and fitness activities that are either free of charge of for just £1? We have partnered up with Sport Sheffield to bring you opportunities to get involved in Sport as part of Residence Life!
We are currently planning our programme for 2020/21 which will be a blend of in-person and online activities. All of our in-person interactions will be in line with Government Guidelines and Public Health England Guidance. So, don’t worry, you will still be able to keep fit and healthy whilst staying safe!
What can you expect from the Sports Programme in 2020/2021? Most of our sessions are happening on a weekly basis - activities such as squash, bouldering, football, yoga and fitness classes are on at the same time each week. On top of that, we have seasonal and one-off events such as football tournaments and Fireworks Walk.
For adventure sports lovers, there are mountain biking sessions, learn to cycle sessions, walks in the Peak District and even an outdoor bouldering session!
Yoga and mindfulness sessions are also on offer to equip you with the tools to combat stress! Over at Residence Life, we think that self-care is a priority in students’ lives, so we run weekly yoga sessions across two locations so that you don’t even have too far to go.
Do you fancy learning a new skill? Why not try our 'learn to use a map and compass' courses! Or perhaps you want to learn to swim? We have it all covered for you!
Overall, there are over 25 different sessions a week. The sessions are either led by qualified instructors or student leaders across the residences so there is something for everyone, right on your doorstep!
All of our sessions are fun, informal and a great place to meet new people.
