Matlock Tour and Heights of Abraham

Glossop Road entrance to Bar One • 21 October, 10am - 4pm, £30

We start our day in the picturesque town of Matlock, here we will get a guided tour of the village. After a short lunch break, we then head over High Tor with our guide on a moderately strenuous walk of about 2 miles to Matlock Bath, one of the Peak District’s premier venues for visitor attractions and amusements. We will then walk up to the cable car at the Heights of Abraham where you will get to explore this breath-taking ride over the peak district. You then have free time to explore Heights of Abraham before we head back down into Matlock Bath for our coach journey ride back to Sheffield.

The trip will run with an 10am departure from the Glossop Road entrance to Bar One. You will then be expected to be at the Matlock Bath meeting point at the end of the day at 4pm, so we can travel back to Sheffield.

What's included with my ticket?

Your ticket is great value for money and includes all coach transport to and from Matlock. Plus we will have a private guided walking tour around Matlock with our guide Sally. Sally we then take us to The Heights of Abraham where we will take a cable car ride up to the Heights. Your ticket also includes this ride and entry to The Heights of Abraham. You will have free time to explore The Heights of Abraham and Matlock Bath.

Team Give it a Go will be with you, but you will be left to your own devices for the day.

What do I need to bring?

It is very important that you bring your ticket to show that you had paid for the trip.

We would also advise all students/explorers be prepared and bring the following:

  • Appropriate clothing for the weather on the day. A coat, umbrella, hat, scarf and gloves would probably be smart.
  • Any spending money you want
  • A rucksack
  • A bottle of water

We would also advise you to bring a small packed lunch, even if you plan on buying food when you get there.
