How to...Move out of your accommodation
With the end of term nearly upon us, and once you've got your exams out of the way, it's time to think about moving out of your accommodation.
There are a few things you'll need to consider:
- returning your keys (including fobs and cycle store keys)
- make sure your room is clean so you get your deposit back
- what you can do with unwanted items
First and foremost, you'll want to get your deposit back, which means your flat (your bedroom, shared kitchen space, and en-suite or shared bathroom) needs to be in clean and tidy order. Make sure all the surfaces in your kitchen, bedroom and bathroom have been cleaned and wiped down, hoover or mop the floors, take the bins out, and don't forget to check things like the inside of your oven and microwave.
See our video at the bottom of this article for kitchen cleaning tips!
