Free Residence Life Mountain Biking

We are so excited to introduce Off Road Cycling into our Residence Sport Programme! This fun weekly session is  led by our qualified student leaders who will take you on basic off road trails around the residences. On our first ride we will be exploring the parks and trails leading to the Peak District.

Where: The Edge, Endcliffe, outside the main reception

When: 10am, Saturday 

Distance: The route will be minimum 12km-20km long 

Proficiency: Please note that the terrain will not be advanced mountain bike terrain but off road (bridleways and similar) and so you need to be comfortable riding a bike on similar surface.

Equipment: We provide the mountain bikes as well as all helmets. Please bring weather appropriate clothing and a bottle of water. 

Cost- Free With Residence Life Card or £2 for non Residence Life students. If you are not part of Residence Life please book via Social Sport. Follow the step below but instead of Residence Life please select Social Sport. 

Please check your email in the morning as we will notify you if the session is cancelled due to adverse weather.

How to Book

You now have to book your free place for all activities and sports. Please note that due to limited capacity, if you don’t book, you may not be able to participate. Please book online 

Here is how to book:

  1. Go to:
  2. Select Online Bookings: It will give you an option to select online bookings or online membership. Select online bookings.
  3. Log into muse:If you are already logged in, it will automatically take you through the booking page. If not, please log in.
  4. Select 'Residence Sport': In order to access free activities, please click on 'Residence Sport'.
  5. Pick Activity: You will see the sports and activities that are available to book for this week. The bookings open four days in advance prior each activity to make sure that everyone gets a chance to book each week.
  6. Click 'Book Activity': If activity is not found, it is because the booking for the activity is not yet open or alternatively it is fully booked.

Please note: it is important that if you book, you honour your place and attend. You can cancel your booking online or at Goodwin Reception.  

Please note bookings open four days’ prior each activity.

Please make sure that you arrive to the session on time. If you are late, you may not be allowed to participate.We will send you a kit list or any other updates about cancellations either the day before or the day after so please make sure that you check your email.

 They aim to communicate with you by email as little as possible and only with relevant or important information.

 You are responsible for observing the rules of the road and ensuring that the bicycle you ride is in a roadworthy condition. 

 They are not responsible for your safety on a bike and do not accept responsibility for any injury sustained or property damaged in the course of your participation with Love to Ride. You need to take the appropriate steps to ensure you ride safely and happily.
