The UK spends £27 billion on clothes each year and most of this huge sum is pocketed long before it reaches the salaries of factory workers or cotton farmers. Water pollution, toxic chemical use and textile waste - fast fashion and cheap product production also comes at a huge cost to the environment.

One of the best ways to benefit your own budget, save the environment, and satisfy your shopping craving is to shop second-hand so why not join Residence Life on Saturday 20 October at 2pm outside Jessop West Cafe for this Amazing Second-hand Shopping Extravaganza Tour!

By recycling, re-using, and buying second-hand there are huge benefit to the environment and your pockets too!

The tour will take your around West Street and Division Street to visit some of the amazing secondhand shops that sheffield’s City Centre has to offer.

We’ll meet outside Jessop West Cafe at 2pm and our Residence LIfe Mentors (look out for them in High Vis vest) will take you around the various second-hand stalls that Sheffield has to offer. And if you’re not interested in clothes, the tour covers non-clothing shops too!

Shop smart, shop second-hand!
