Become a Residence Life Mentor for 2020-21

 Are you a full-time student at the University of Sheffield and would you like to:

Job specification

 Applicants will have a good knowledge and experience of the University and of the Residences, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and above all be confident team players.  Previous experience of providing support or living in University accommodation is essential.  Applicants must be a fully registered student for the whole period of the Fixed Term Contract, and aged 18 years or over.

We encourage applications from BAME students, Postgraduate students and students living in Families accommodation.





Salary

The basic rate of pay for the academic year 2019-20 is £9.00 per hour. 

Please note pay rates are reviewed on an annual basis.





Hours

Mentors will be required to work 12-15 hours per week on a rota basis, mostly during evenings and weekends.

In the meantime however we are recruiting for Activity Reps to start this semester!



Become an Activity Rep for 2019-20

We're looking for students with an eye for events and activities to be part of our Activities Committee!



If you've got a passion for a particular area e.g. sports or maybe you're a postgraduate who wants to put on activities for your fellow PG students then we want to hear from you!



You'll get to put on your own fully funded events and activities for your friends and students communities and receive HEAR accreditation! It's also great stepping stone to becoming a Residence Life Mentor.



We will be running regular monthly Activities Committee meetings where you can discuss your ideas and plan as a team the type of events you want to put on in the residences. The rest is up to you!
